じゆう - 自由 - 자유 - FREEdom in the 8th world

Of late the theme of freedom has been bugging me ...

When was the last time you truly felt free ?

Free to speak your mind ? without hesitation !

Free to fart in no one's presence ? with much relief ! (pardon the crass comparison here)

Free to love whomever you wanted ? with reckless abandon !

Free to do whatever you loved ? whatever your heart desires !

Free to be yourself ? dress in any way you want, walk any way you feel like !

Free to catch the next flight to wherever it may be ? mighty glad to be alive and living life !

BE WHO YOU ARE, WHO YOU WANNABE!

Watching Jim Carrey's latest comedy - YES MAN definitely set the tone for "what if''s" and "what nots" ? in life. His other films like THE MASK, BRUCE ALMIGHTY also play with the theme of uncovering your heart's innermost desires and what kind of hell/heaven might break loose!

Got my hands on the last copy of MISIA'S "EIGHTH WORLD" live concert DVD at HMV yesterday ! As the screen pans towards the massive audience and their entranced gazes towards the diva onstage, I can't help but feel their spirits soar together in that consolidated silence of salute to her ballads, surfacing mixed feelings buried by the daily humdrum of life and decorum dictated by the society you live in ... Her concerts feel like a temporary playground for grown ups. With DJ's scratching remixes into catchy tunes, your whole body itches to move to the beat and sway to the wave of collected freedom. For that split second, you are more than yourself. Collectively YOU ARE ONE ! This is the reason why I will not hesitate to catch another one of her "live" concerts if she ever pops by the little island of Singapore! Deep down I am compelled by the urge to head to the Land of the Rising Sun and follow the whole tour of her next new album. The infectious beats and dazzling laser displays are a spectacle not to be missed in this lifetime ! Kudos to the team behind these wonderful tributes to a voice of the century... a voice that spans across the globe, the universe, the rivers, the oceans, the forest and the 7 seas. Get lost in track #6 and sing along to its lyrics if you feel like it ( unfortunately no english translation is available at the moment )
