International flavors @ Holland V

The weekend is over and the busy week ahead looms its dreary gray in the herringbone grey skirt i picked out for Monday. Saturday was spent in "tai-tai" fashion, with a late breakfast and shopping at my favourite neighbourhood hangout- Holland Village. Out here, at this quaint little enclave, quirky meets the classy.... you can hang out from dawn till dusk given the variety of shops packed in this little street.

For breakfast, you can check out the Provence Bakery for freshly baked bread and sandwiches, famous for its melt in your mouth chocolate wassants. Its chi chi neighbour - Marmalade serves up posh nosh in the comfort of utilitarian white walls and furniture. Or get your local fix at Ya Kun cafe that serves up your half boiled eggs, complete with kaya smothered toast and strong coffee / tea to start your day with some oomph. Breko serves up some hearty American fare with sausages, baked beans, eggs & toast...

For lunch, you can check out an international array of flavours from dim sum to vietnamese, japanese, thai and local favourites. If you have some moolah to spend, take a quick 5 min stroll over to Chip Bee gardens where you can find gourmet take-outs at DA PAOLO GASTRONOMIA, organic groceries at BUNALUN and some pasta/pizzas/vegetarian fare from DA PAOLO/MICHAELANGELO's at this row of upmarket restaurants & shops.

Dinner is another mind boggling array of choices from Indian, Mexican,American and etc...

The many cafes and pubs around here make it a haven for those looking for that perfect spot to relax over something nice to drink. TCC, Coffeeclub,Tapas Bar, Indochine, 2am dessert bar, Cafe 211, Haagen Daaz, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Essential Brew, Foster's,etc.... and if you are lucky enough to stay around the refurbished residential flats here, you can just walk home after a night of revelry without having to worry about not getting a cab.

The 24 hour supermarket here makes it very convenient for some late night grocery shopping. I love

In short, Holland V is thee place to shop/eat till you drop. See ya folks around next week !
